Arizona in Performing Songwriter - 9 to watch in ‘09

“Though their namesake may have been the last contiguous state added to the Union, Arizona the band is wasting no time attracting a following. The delightfully quirky Brooklyn-born, North Carolina-based quartet should soon taste success, and not just for knowing their way around a melody or bringing masterfully crafted, undeniably catchy (if sometimes unsettling) indie rock to the table.

Since emerging in 2005, bandmates Alex Hornbake, Ben Wigler, James DeDakis and Nick Campbell have garnered acclaim from bloggers, music critics and musicians alike, landing desirable spots touring with major acts such as Band of Horses and the Indigo Girls. With the 2008 release of their second LP, Glowing Bird–issued on Echo Mountain Records–Arizona is picking up speed, sharing tour dates with Derek Trucks and their old friend Amy Ray, as well as making numerous headlining appearances for their Glowing Bird tour, wrapping early this spring.”

Thank you Performing Songwriter! To support a magazine saying such nice things about us, go find a copy and buy it if you can!

Have a good afternoon,
Nick
